Back in August, Eater posted a running list of new restaurants set to open around Boston this fall. Here are the Italian hot spots on the list, spreading over Boston proper and into Cambridge as well.
- Sulmona Ristoranti: Run by the same chef-owner of Amelia’s Trattoria, this restaurant will be located in Kendall Square. No opening day seems to be listed on its Facebook or website.
- Certified Meatball Company: Not entirely Italian, as it will be serving globally-inspired meatballs, this eatery will be opening in Southie. Website doesn’t seem to be up yet, and Facebook boasts a menu and a construction photo.
- A4 at Troy: Kendall Square staple Area Four is opening up another location in the South End’s new Troy building. President Obama visited the Kendall Square location and enjoyed it, so you know it’s got to be good.
- Eataly Boston: The big one. With locations all over the world and branching out into the United States, this Italian eatery and grocery store has all of the finest pastas, ingredients, wines, coffees, gelatos, and even snacks. It’s lauded by chefs worldwide (though this does mean it can be pretty pricey). I’ve been to the Florence, Munich, and New York locations already, so I’m excited to see what the Boston location has in store! This spot has been on construction for at least the past year and will be opening in the Prudential Center this fall reportedly around November.
